The ipOFTP communication box reduces the task of transferring confidential data to copying files in inbound and outbound folders.
The Internet transmission itself is normally encrypted just as HTTPS is. In addition, the files themselves can be encrypted so that only the correct recipient will be able to decrypt the file.
You can set the "Encrypt files" option in the partner's configuration. If this option is set, all outgoing files from ipOFTP will be encrypted before transmission.
If an encrypted file is received, then ipOFTP will automatically decrypt this file after receiving it. In the incoming folder, the decrypted file arrives. You do not need to worry about the details of decryption.
The encryption is done with the public certificate of the recipient. Decryption is possible only if you have access to the private, secret key of the recipient. Therefore, you cannot decrypt a file that you have just encrypted yourself.
